Background
In the post-pandemic era, the market research on group outings and gatherings shows a significant increase in the proportion of collective travel and group gatherings. This has prompted us to conduct a survey on the tools used when preparing for travel/events. We noticed that before engaging in such activities, it is a common habit for everyone to search for relevant information on the internet and then filter out a list of items to bring. However, during this process, we observed a gap in the flow between searching for scattered internet information and establishing an organized item list.
This prompted us to conduct competitive analysis of co-editing list tools commonly used by friends and family and popular in the market, based on the dimensions of
We have found that many related tools do not have a product that can both customize list building efficiency and list collaboration functions. Therefore, we see some opportunities to help people who like to organize activities and travel together more efficiently to complete their pre-trip preparations.
User Research
We conduct user interviews through guerrilla interviews to collect user behaviors during pre-trip preparations, including past packing experiences, habits and methods of recording checklists, thoughts on current list-making tools, and pain points encountered in the packing process, using a closed card sorting method for categorization:
Next, based on the data and insights gathered from user interviews, we create a journey map for pre-travel packing lists. This helps the team better identify opportunities for improvement in the current process of preparing pre-travel items.
Below are the things we learned from this user interview:

Design Principles
In this design, here are the design principles we adhere to:
To improve the efficiency of the user's list usage, we focus on simplifying the interface, clearly planning the information content, and ensuring that users can easily manage tasks in the list.
Maintain consistency in the overall visual design across various product functionalities to ensure a smooth user experience.
In the entire journey map of travel/activity preparation, the pre-trip preparation is the most frustrating stage. We hope to make it easier for users to prepare packing items by using rounded component designs and warm, coordinated color selections.

Usability Testing
In order to verify the positive impact of our product on users, we have written task testing scripts for each feature of Copack, and conducted qualitative usability testing and interviews with 5 new participants, and quantified the usability testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS).
Copack scored 81 on the SUS, with a Excellent rating!
